Post by legobricks » Sat Nov 24, 2012 5:52 am

*ALL* LEGO Construction & Board Games.

Excludes Ninjago, Technic, Video Games & Accessories, Books, Galaxy Squad. And, as always, online may have additional exclusions not listed.

I guess SW has fallen out of favor eh?
Only ninjago seems to be constantly on the exclusion list with these "sales" from TRU lately.

It's not that SW has fallen out of favor but the markup from MRSP is now sooo high the discounts don't matter. (9_9)

I think you have a good point about the markup. However, my contact at the local Lego store told me that SW is not selling well at all and Ninjago is selling very well, along with Friends. ;-) I noticed that many TRU Technic sets are at MSRP. Hence the exclusion to the BOGO.

Hopefully people take this opportunity to find the best deal at TRU to take advantage of instead of whining about their negative opinion on it. It's not a keen observation anymore to note that TRU overprices their sets, the key is how to take advantage of them.

Hopefully the Hobbit sets will start hitting the stores in this timeframe and will be at TRU's "grace period" prices (MSRP-ish) before they hike them to the stratosphere!

Even at TRU markup / BOGO 50 you might be hard-pressed to get a better price on some of these sets before the holidays.

Are we sure this is a legit impending sale? Can I get a link or something? Does it start midnight tonight? Etc etc. Even after the fiasco of the last BOGO50 I would expect to see a (potential) sale like this more widely discussed if not advertised.

EDIT: Please ignore the paranoia expressed above. I was a big boy and did a few Googles.

This is not unreasonable paranoia because I thought the same thing. When you post something like this, cite the source please.

Should be, but up to $20. So if you're getting big sets you might need to pay a bit if the shipping runs past $20.

walmart, target, and amazon are currently offering some good sale prices on many of the bigger items, so if you only want one item you might double check the savings + TRU pricing against the current sales

this also depends on if TRU will be including the modulars/exclusives

imperial shuttle at amazon for 209.99
r2 at all 3 for 139.xx
vw van also sitting right around 100.00
malevolence around 90.00

It didn't start on time a few months ago either, someone will get around to activating it sometime this morning...probably...
