Extremely disappointed. I should have made my purchase in October, and would have at least gotten a "good" free set. I was holding out for a comparable deal on the Horizon express (15% off) like they are getting in the UK/Europe.

This is so lame. Europe gets those discounts while there's nothing here. Double vip points isn't anything that fascinating as we get those a few times a year anyways.

Same here. I was planing to get two Horizon Express.
Now my question is, should I buy it now or wait til Black Friday, maybe it will be discounted then?

I agree that it is unfair that Europe can get a sale on special items but you also have to remember that Europe pays like 15% more on their sets so it evens out.

But still I am suprised that there is nothing for us or anything good. Also that when they do put a sale price in online, it is for items that have already been sold out so you can't actually buy it at the price.

Well, I spent $104 plus tax online for some Hobbit sets I was missing... got the bonus skating set, a poster, and double VIP points. I'll visit the local store tomorrow and spend another $100+... Just be happy you have money to spend on LEGO's and they are offering up something...

The only good thing I can get out of this sale is the Pick a Brick section, with free shipping. I just need to find reasonable prices on parts.

I read this as though they were allowing VIP cardholders early access to the same deals they'll have for the general public on Black Friday. I hope I was right - it would really suck if they decided to start throwing out sales next week after roping us in today.

I did the Black Friday stuff last year and got some great deals on stuff I otherwise wouldn't have bought - the storage cases, organizers, etc. I planned on buying more this time around, but there were no such offers this year. Like I said, I'll be really disappointed if they then start offering sales on Friday. I guess I'll just have to wait and see...

Is the notion of 2x VIP next week a rumor, a wish, a reality, something in between? Last year the bonus VIP points were pre-BF only, so I'm expecting the same this year. You get EITHER points now or (lame) sales next week. However if [email protected] pulled out a classic $15 off $150+ or something that would make things a little more interesting.
