Lego City Advent Calendar @ Costco!
Hi all,
I was at Costco today, and I saw the 2015 Lego City Advent Calendar for C$29.99. The MSRP is $39.99, so that makes for a healthy 25% off, if anyone's interested. Admittedly, it's not as good as it has been in previous years (C$27.99), but it's still the best deal on an advent calendar. This is unfortunately, not available on costco.ca; only in warehouses.
Cheers!

That is indeed not a bad deal; given the very low Canadian Dollar (lower than a year ago). Thank you for mentioning this!

Hi Harry,
No worries; it's my pleasure! You mention a very good point regarding the low Canadian dollar. I remember before the loonie fell, how we (Canadians) used to rightfully vent how the US was getting the best prices for Lego sets. And now, it's Canada. I'm not sure how long before TLC increases in prices in Canada, but until then, it sure feels great!
Also, my original posting was regarding Costco warehouses in Alberta. If anyone could confirm the deal on the advent calendar is the same in other provinces, that would be great!
Cheers!

The Willingdon Costco in Burnaby has them for $29.99 as well.

just got today in peterborough...thanks for the heads up to look out for them!
Re: Lego City Advent Calendar @ Costco!
Yep, it's available in Peterborough. Now I wish Costco would carry the Star Wars advent calendar for the same price.

and being Costco, don't dawdle! After 3 days at the Willingdon Costco, more than 2/3 of the stock was gone. If I recall correctly last year, they just got 1 shipment and after a couple weeks they were gone for good.

You make an important point, pbb99!
Everyone interested, get to your local Costco ASAP! Even if you are not sure, just get one anyway, because we know how easy it is to return items to Costco. At least that way, you won't regret it later on.

There was 3/4 of a pallet of sets at the Costco in Langley BC, as of 3 days ago.
Re: Lego City Advent Calendar @ Costco!
What Costco in Calgary were you at? I went to Beacon Hill today and there was no evidence of the Advent Calendars anywhere.eagerbeaver wrote:Hi Harry,

Re: Lego City Advent Calendar @ Costco!
Hi Draug,
I saw them at all three of the Costco warehouses in Calgary — NW (Beacon Hill), NE (32nd St), SE (Heritage). I haven't had an opportunity to visit the one up north right outside Calgary in Rocky View Country, though. But I expect they should have them, too. I think when I was at Beacon Hill, I had a little trouble finding the Advent Calendar pallet, but it was there. It may have been sold out now. Perhaps, try another warehouse, and consider calling them beforehand to check the quantities to make sure your trip does not go to waste. I don't think they do holds, otherwise it'd have been amazing! Good luck!
Cheers,
EB

Costco downtown Vancouver had 3/4 skid as well.
Honestly, I don't see why these are so popular... even at $30 I find it expensive. All hyped up as a gift I suppose.

Re: Lego City Advent Calendar @ Costco!
I completely agree. I just don't find value in it, so I have never bought it for my own collection. It does work okay as a gift, however. They need to at least double the piece count, but given the popularity, they probably won't, since they are getting away with it. Oh well...legolego wrote:Costco downtown Vancouver had 3/4 skid as well.

It is a great idea as a gift or for young kids... lots of excitement opening up a door every day in December. Well worth the $30.

I saw it in Quebec City. I can 't justify buying it for my son though. Even at 10$ under the MSRP, the value just ain't there.

The parts to $$ ratio isn't good. It's the novelty of building 24 little sets in 24 days that my kids love.
