Hopefully this is the right place to ask this.

I have been trying to track down a Lego set I loved as a child, but have had no luck. Its a set that would have been out in the early to mid 1980's. It was a huge Castle set. (800 + Pieces) The only specialty pieces I remember for sure where a lot of these rounded semi circle blocks that looked like this:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=3063a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
But they where light grey in color and where used to make the round castle towers... The castle was made up of the light grey color bricks. I remember the instruction booklet was very detailed and way to complicated for me at the time. I think it may of had some horses to it as well? Unfortunately I'm not 100% sure it was an actual Lego set, although my parents say it was, they think all blocks of that type are Lego's. I've done some research and have come across the kings castle set but that's not it.

Any Help would be greatly appreciated!

Hrm... odd. I can't find any sets in the Castle theme when viewed by year that include that kind of 'macaroni' piece.

I can't even seem to find any record of that piece even coming in light grey. But I know that's what color they where as the whole castle was light grey. The other thing that's a bit weird is I tried looking it up at a site with a bunch of scans of old Lego instruction booklets. The instructions all seem to be full color pictures. I remember the instructions that came with the castle where mostly typed words with a few black and white illustrations. Which is what made putting the castle together so complicated.

I'm really starting to wonder if it really was an actual Lego set?

If the instructions were written then it was definitely not LEGO, every LEGO set ever has had full color picture instructions.

Wouldn't it be funny and awesome at the same time if lego comes up with a ucs castle with round towers like the cinderella castle? Just as described in this thread? With a few princesses (with tiara) and knights protecting them from the evil dragon banditos? Makes for a great ucs like the imperial flagship ;)

Need help from Lego experts

Post by jikura » Sat Mar 05, 2011 4:17 pm

I just bought a bunch of loose bricks and figs and have spent hours on brickset trying to figure out which sets a few of the pieces come from. If you recognize any of the pieces, I"d appreciate any help. Thanks.

The three pieces on the left were in Mars Mission sets, the middle pieces are from Tiger Shark Attack (7773) and the rightmost pieces are from The Batboat: Hunt for Killer Croc (7780).
Edit: After looking at the stickers closer I believe the Mars Mission set is MX-71 Recon Dropship (7692).

I have a question and this seems the best place for it. How do you tell the difference between?

Plate, Modified 1 x 1 with Clip Horizontal

and

Plate, Modified 1 x 1 with Clip Horizontal (open O clip)

The first one has squared ends the second one has the ends rounded.

Name this piece...

Post by Timetempest » Thu Apr 07, 2011 3:18 pm

I can't find a name for this piece anywhere. It's the black piece that fits in the androids right arm from series 3. I've seen them elsewhere too.

I have seen it described as Black Bar 1L with Clip Mechanical Claw on bricklink.

It's not really black, more like a 'gunmetal' color, which Bricklink calls 'Pearl Dark Gray'.

Also, merged.

Most people call it pearl dark gray. I've never heard of it referred to as anything else.

Yeah, but I'm sure that's not the 'official' name, per TLG. Maybe it's in LDD Extended, but I haven't noticed it yet.

Can anybody help me on this Star wars minifigures. I got a box of legos and there are tons of minifigures parts to sort through. This one was different because the color is really shining gold and not the usual pearl gold. I think it is a special edition made in 2007 chrome gold C-3PO. it's a little chipped but just wondering if anyone can clarify and help identify it. Just want to double check before i sell it on ebay. THanks!!

Those guys were randomly inserted in Star Wars sets back for the 30th anniversary. On eBay, people have them listed for quite a bit. 4521221 is the set number and they are quite rare. Enjoy!
