LegoShop May the 4th be with you (2011)
LegoShop May the 4th be with you (2011)
Back in 2009, we had the Star Wars Poster. In 2010, it was a sticker sheet and a variety of items on sale.
This year, the calendar says spend $75 and get an exclusive, limited edition LEGO Star Wars minifigure FREE with a $75 LEGO Star Wars purchase. The picture shows a scout trooper. My guess would be maybe a chrome scout trooper? What other Lego Star Wars sales do you think there will be? I'm hoping some of the big sets like death star and tantive will be on sale. Would be even better with free shipping. :D

My intial thought was a shadow scout trooper but its probably a different color scheme entirely. A sale would be nice that month, so would free shipping as I have some points from last year.

Why is it always $75? Is this a specific price point they've devised? It seems like most of their deals require you to spend either $75 for some sort of special gift or $100 for free shipping.

75 dollars has always seemed steep to me and I don't think I've ever reached it specifically to get the "free" something. The little police boat and lizard had a "free" price of $35 recently so...not always.

My first thought was Kashyyyk Scout Trooper. As much as I would like one, whatever it may be, spending $75 seems too steep just to get a free fig. I have a hard time paying MSRP for most sets when there are usually decent sales and deals to be had over the life cycle of any given set. Of course if there are some really good sales on the 4th, that changes things and $75 could be very easy to justify.JabbaT wrote:Back in 2009, we had the Star Wars Poster. The exclusive item is usually not all that impressive. If however like last year they give out free shipping and a few awesome sales (remember the UCS Falcon going for $170 by mistake?)

I'm guessing since they are redoing the Phantom Menace this year it is going to be related to that movie in some way. Not sure who they would pick out.cowbug wrote:My first thought was Kashyyyk Scout Trooper. As much as I would like one, whatever it may be, spending $75 seems too steep just to get a free fig. I totally understand what you mean about the price though. I try to never ever pay the full price for a set if I can help it.

hoping for the death star and tantive since they are both going to be discontinued soon.
Re: LegoShop May the 4th be with you (2011)
Well according to Amazon, the Death Star is discontinued.
Re: LegoShop May the 4th be with you (2011)
It's been discussed that any reseller on Amazon can set that form field, and there's little to no oversight as to whether it's accurate, so take that with a grain of salt.Max Power wrote:Well according to Amazon, the Death Star is discontinued.

I too would love to pick up the Tantive on sale for my fleet, the price tag is the only thing that has stopped me.

I can confirm that the promotion minifig is the shadow ARF trooper. It said so in a postcard that came in the mail

Was there any specific SALE information for this promotion. It was indicated to me by a Lego store employee that there would also be a SALE that day in addition to the promotion.

Going to guess that they're MOC's...found them on Flickr.
