LEGO 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute 2022 Set Contents

Dumping out the contents, you get the instructions booklet along with a sticker. The sticker is for the nameplate piece. Its labelled as “Dr. Jane Goodall – Ethologist”.

We wished LEGO made the sticker a printed piece. But for a promo gift set, its unlikely especially this is one of a kind piece just for this set.

There’s a biography section of Jane Goodall in the first few pages of the instructions booklet. It comes in a few different languages.

Here is the final page of the biography of Jane Goodall along with a picture of the set. Its always nice to have some explanation and history of the set so this is a nice touch.

One thing you will notice with the LEGO 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute instructions is that at the bottom of the pages, there is a little LEGO Jane Goodall minifigure. As you progress throughout the instructions and the build, the minifigure moves slowly from the left to the right.

Its kind of neat that LEGO included this as they don’t it for all the sets. This is probably because LEGO 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute is a limited edition set.

In the box contents, you also get five bags of LEGO pieces. The bags are unnumbered which means you need to sort through all of them at once. You also get a white piece on the side as well. Its strange why they would leave this piece outside of the bag.

LEGO 40530 Jane Goodall Tribute 2022 Building Process

You start of building the set with building the LEGO Jane Goodall minifigure. She has binoculars as a side accessory. The minifigure has printed green shirt and beige color pants. You also get three cute small chimpanzee figures as well. They come in black color and have printed faces.

Here is the back of the minifigure along with the chimpanzee figures. LEGO Jane Goodall only has one side face unlike some of the other minifigures that have double sided faces.

You then continue the build by building the base for the set. The different colors represent the different landscapes. There’s a river, grass and mushy mud.

After building the base, you start building on the trunk of the trees, the shrubs and flowers.

Finally, you build the jungle trees. This is probably the hardest part of the build as you have to be careful putting the tree parts together. However, its not too difficult still and a 10 year old should not have issues building this.

Notice that there are spaces where you can place the chimpanzees and the LEGO Jane Goodall minifigure.

These are the spare extra pieces left. You can about one extra piece for each tiny piece that was used in the set.

Overall Thoughts

This is a really cute little set! Its great for display and kids will definitely have fun playing with it as well. The jungle trees and the base landscape are full of details. The chimpanzees figures are adorable too.
