LEGO IDEAS The Earth Globe Original Project Creation – Achieved 10 000 Supporters on May 5, 2020
LEGO IDEAS is a special theme that allows LEGO fans to submit their LEGO project creations on their website. If the project design achieves 10 000 supporters, there’s the possibility that it could potentially become the next official LEGO IDEAS set. The fan that designed the project will get a small bit of monetary compensation based on the number of sales the official LEGO IDEAS set make.
The original LEGO IDEAS Earth Globe creation was submitted on LEGO IDEAS on February 3, 2020 by LEGO fan Disneybrick55. He is a LEGO fan based in Guillaume Roussel, France. It was selected as a staff pick on April 15, 2020. On May 5, 2020, it achieved 10 000 supporters. This is the threshold needed for project creations to be evaluated whether it is feasible for the creation to be made into an official LEGO IDEAS set. On September 30, 2020, the project received final approval for production. The official LEGO IDEAS 21332 The Globe set has a release date of February 1st, 2022 at LEGO Shop at Home (USA | Canada | UK | Australia).
Below is an image of the original LEGO IDEAS Earth Globe creation. The official product changed some of the landscape colors from green to light brown to show desert areas. There’s also glow in the dark pieces for the names of the places on the earth. Its definitely a nice touch.
