I’d like to take an opportunity to thank all of our readers for their continued support in my little hobby LEGO news fan website. The site first launched in 2009 so its been 14 years since it has been in operation. I first started Toys N Bricks in 2009 when I was a grade 11 high school student in Canada. Time sure really flies.
Thank you to all of the loyal readers as well as any new readers that continue to read my writing. Thank you for your support. I hope I am able to provide you with relevant and useful LEGO news and LEGO sales & deals updates.
In this article, I’ll talk a little about the history of Toys N Bricks, the website statistics and the operations of the site. I’ll also talk about the upcoming Q4 holiday season. Read on below. (:
Toys N Bricks’ Past History
The site’s golden period was probably around 2012 to 2016 when I was a post-secondary university undergraduate student in Canada. During 2012 to 2016, the site’s traffic was very high and I had an active online forum community with about 10k forum members. I still keep the forums online for archive purposes and you can check it out here.
The site started going downhill in 2017 shortly after I graduated from university and got my first real job in the corporate office world. The first few years after university graduation really was tough and rough. It was a difficult road that was very hard to walk.
2017 to 2019 were probably the worst years for Toys N Bricks. I lost all motivation to work due to health issues I was going through. I basically abandoned the site. I quit my full-time corporate office day job as well. Search engine rankings for our site went down significantly.
Recovery & A New Era for Toys N Bricks
I started the recovery process of Toys N Bricks when my health recovered a lot more. Although even as of today, it’s no where near the traffic levels from 2012 to 2016, I’m happy with the growth.
I am hopeful and determined that it will get back to those levels one day. Of course, the website traffic will depend on how hard I work on the website as well as how much time I put into it. Check out the statistics below.

Year 2020 Annual Website Statistics

*Traffic website statistics are taken from Google Analytics.
On a monthly basis, the website gets about roughly 65,000 to 85,000 page views. This is usually quite consistent as I don’t really get any viral posts. During Q4 holiday season, the site gets significantly a lot more page views.
This year for 2023, I don’t expect or anticipate an increase in traffic compared to the prior year. The marketing strategic growth for the website requires hard work, time, dedication and thinking outside the box.
I haven’t been able to put as much work on the site compared to the prior years and the current year results are clearly showing that. The numbers of articles written this year is probably less than the prior year.
Also, some of the cutbacks include changing the weekly LEGO sales summaries for US and Canada regions from every week to every two weeks instead. Not a lot of people read those so that’s why I cut it back.
Upcoming 2023 Holiday Season Q4
As we head into the Q4 holiday season, I will work hard and try to publish more LEGO sales articles to inform you of LEGO deals. That way, you can get awesome LEGO buys for your loved ones this holiday season. In the past, Toys N Bricks was popular for all the LEGO sales finds and I remain committed to that.
My focus is on the US and Canadian markets. However, I do publish some UK and Australia deals too (especially the ones from LEGO Shop at Home). Be sure to subscribe to our email subscription if you haven’t done so yet. That way, you won’t miss anything.

Toys N Bricks is Currently Run by One Person
Toys N Bricks is a small hobby fan site that’s currently run by only one person (the founder) in Metro Greater Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. I don’t have multiple staff writing articles for me. This is a hobby site that I run for fun. Toys N Bricks is a very small tiny fan website and I appreciate your support. Thank you for continuing to support my little site. (:
I currently have a full-time office job in the corporate world working 40 hours/week. I don’t work on Toys N Bricks full-time but work on it in the evenings after work. I also work on it on the weekends. So basically, I primarily work on Toys N Bricks part-time during evenings and weekends.
Rest assure that on special LEGO sales events and days like Black Friday, Amazon Prime Days and LEGO VIP Weekends, I will have full coverage of everything. I will take time off from my day job to ensure full coverage of the big LEGO sales events so that you don’t miss out on any good deals.
Toys N Bricks Articles are Handwritten by the Founder
The articles on the main site at Toysnbricks.com are hand written by the founder and owner of Toys N Bricks. Yes, it’s written by a human. They are not generated by AI writing. There’s been a surge of speculation as to what would happen to blogging and writing ever since the launch of ChatGPT and Bing AI.
Going forward, I may put my own opinions and thoughts into the articles. Currently, I write most articles objectively.
