Toys N Bricks Site News Update – Archived Forums Updated, Website Traffic Statistics & More

The archive Toys N Bricks forums at toysnbricks.com/forums has now been updated to the latest version 3.3.11. This update was released back in October 2023 so I’m very behind on this. This forum was active for 8 years from 2009 to 2017. The forums will continue to be available for archive and information purposes. Sometimes, too many spambots/crawlers go in there and it leads to the forum crashing. I’m currently looking for a solution to this. Minimal maintenance is still needed for the forums but my focus will be on the blog/news site.

The next part that I need to work on is updating the forum software on the newer archive forums at toysnbricksforum.com. This forum was active for about two years from 2020 to 2022.

In addition, I also need to save the old Google Universal Analytics data which was deprecated in July 2023. In July 2024, all of the old statistical data will be removed.

I’m committed to lifelong learning and working on to be a better person. No one is perfect and we all make mistakes and have our own flaws. But more importantly is perhaps if the person is willing to learn and trying to improve themselves.

As mentioned in my prior site update message last year, I did not have as much time as before to work on the website in 2023. I do work a full-time 40 hours/week corporate job while also working on the Toys N Bricks website after my day-time job. This is in addition to also balancing relationship/family demands, responsibilities and commitments. I’m being pulled at multiple angles with the amount of work there is to do and I only have limited time each day.

Running this website is a lot of work. When I was a high school/university student with less responsibilities/commitments and more time, it was not as bad. I still remember finishing my lecture/tutorial classes at school or after finishing my part-time job and then quickly going to the Toys N Bricks forums to talk about LEGO with other LEGO enthusiasts and fans. I thank you to all of our members and readers for the great memories and experiences.

*Higher website traffic levels are during the holiday season in Q4 for October, November and December.

The Google search algorithm is constantly changing and it’s been a little hard to keep up with everything as I don’t have the time to follow up and read on all the latest digital marketing trends and updates. I also didn’t write/post as much as before in 2023 compared to the prior years. As such, the 2023 website statistics do show.

Rest assured though that the website will continue to be maintained with fresh LEGO news. However, the priority for me currently is not on strategic website traffic growth. Basically, I’ll just continue with the operations/maintenance side of things on the website but not as much on the strategy/expansion/growth. This may change in the future if I do end up getting more free time.

Thank you for your ongoing support and continuing to read Toys N Bricks. Stay safe and take care. (:
